{"id":147,"date":"2012-10-26T17:32:33","date_gmt":"2012-10-26T17:32:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dbmafl.com\/?p=147"},"modified":"2013-12-24T04:17:08","modified_gmt":"2013-12-24T04:17:08","slug":"cpt-coding-changes-for-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbmafl.com\/?p=147","title":{"rendered":"CPT Coding Changes for 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the past month or so we have received announcements from the Florida Federal Advocacy Coordinator for the APA and the National Council for Community Behavorial Health Care regarding changes for CPT Coding in 2013.\u00a0\u00a0 As we have reviewed this infomation it is noted that the most significant changes are for Psychiatrist and nurse practitioners.\u00a0 A crosswalk regarding these coding changes is attached below.\u00a0\u00a0 It appears that beginning in 2013 those medication providers will be using a two code system.\u00a0 The first code will be an evaluation and management code followed by an add on code.\u00a0\u00a0 For those providers who do not do medication management it is more of a simple change from 90804 to 90832.\u00a0 For the Interactive codes you are permitted to use an add on code when complexity indicates the need for one but in general the crosswalk shows that the codes 90804, 90806 and 90808 will be deleted and replaced with 90833, 90836, and 90838.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dbmafl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/CPT-Crosswalk1.pdf\">CPT-Crosswalk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Medicare rate schedule should be out by the end of November and perhaps at that time we will see some mention of this but at this time none of the Medicare MAC&#8217;s have mentioned this change nor have we seen anything coming from the different insurance carriers.\u00a0 All this information is coming from the various associations and has not been implemented or addressed by insurance companies at this time.\u00a0 We will have to wait an see how they intend to handle the transition.\u00a0 More on this as things come up.<\/p>\n<p>October 30, 2012\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Update we have just received notification from New Directions who is the Managed Care for BCBS of Florida that these codes will be changing effective 01\/01\/2013.\u00a0 We have yet to see anything posted for Medicare at this time.\u00a0 More as these changes are recognized by the different insurors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the past month or so we have received announcements from the Florida Federal Advocacy Coordinator for the APA and [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2}},"categories":[4,6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-147","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-billing","category-legislative-and-new-processes"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.7.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>CPT Coding Changes for 2013 - DB Management &amp;
